Purpose

The purpose of the workshop is to introduce this fast developing subject to beginning researchers, stimulate research and foster interaction of researchers interested in the subject. The informal workshop atmosphere will facilitate the exchange of ideas from different research areas and, hopefully, the participants will leave informed of the latest developments and newest ideas.

Pre-workshop lectures

On January 6, 2010, 2:00pm - 4:00pm, there will be three short lectures of 40 minutes each for novices of the topic (lecture schedule and abstracts): Some useful background materials:
  1. M.Nakahara and T. Ohmi, Quantum computing. From liner algebra to physical realizations, CRC Press.
  2. D. McMahon, Quantum computing explained, Jonh Wiley & Sons.
  3. Wikipedia pages on "Quantum information science", "Quantum computer", "Quantum cryptography" and the references therein.
  4. The Youtube clips on "Two slit experiement," "Stern Gerlach experiement," and "Quantum teleportation."

Registration and deadlines

There will be no registration fee for the meeting.
