Title: Higher-order Markov Chain Models for Categorical Data Sequences

Abstract: We proposed an higher-order Markov chain models for analyzing 
categorical data sequences. We develop an efficient estimation method for 
the model parameters. Applications of the model to data sequences such as 
DNA, sales demand and web data are given to demonstrate the effectiveness 
of our proposed model.
