Our Ph.D. graduate Dr. Wenpin HOU has recently received the NIH Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) which is funded, through the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), by USA's National Institutes of Health (NIH). The NIH Pathway to Independence Award provides an opportunity for promising postdoctoral scientists to receive both mentored and independent research support from the same award, and it provides up to 5 years of support.
The awarded project title is Computational Methods for Inferring Single-cell DNA Methylation and its Spatial Landscape.

Dr. Hou received her Ph.D. in 2017 from the Department of Mathematics under the supervision of Prof. Wai-Ki Ching. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow of Biostatistics at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH). She has published several papers in journals of high impact factors (>10) such as JAMA Psychiatry and Genome Biology.
