Aspects of Automorphic Forms and Applications |
All talks will take place in James Hsiong Lee Science Building, Room JLG05. Its location is marked here on the university's interactive map. The room is equipped with a single computer projector and a blackboard.
The Department of Mathematics is located at Run Run Shaw Building (see the map or the interactive version). Be careful, there is another building on the campus named "Run Run Shaw Tower"; if the building you arrive at goes above the fourth floor, you are in the wrong building.
The primary airport for the area is the Hong Kong Airport (HKG). [PDF]
A Taxi [PDF] from the airport to HKU costs approximately 350 HKD. The taxi stands are located between Terminals 1 and 2. To go to the taxi stands, follow the signs labelled "to city". If you arrive in Terminal 1, go to the middle of the arrivals hall and cross to the other side (towards Terminal 2) and then turn to exit on the left. If you arrive in Terminal 2, then you will walk towards Terminal 1 and turn right.
There are three different groups of taxis (Urban, New Territories, and Lantau) which service different areas in Hong Kong. In order to go to HKU, you will need to take the red (Urban) taxi. [PDF]
An address card for the taxi driver (including Chinese characters) may be found here or here.
First take the Airport Express Train to Hong Kong Station (115 HKD); upon exiting into the arrivals hall in the airport from Terminal 1, the Airport Express trains are located directly in front of you in the middle. Hong Kong Station is connected underground to Central Station, and then one takes the MTR from Central Station to HKU station. [PDF]
Alternatively, after taking the Airport Express Train to Hong Kong Station, one can then take a taxi inside Hong Kong Island. Directions for the taxi driver to Robert Black College from the Airport Express exit can be found here.
For additional directions, enter the origin and destination into the transit department's website.
